Ombre Sticker Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

Today I want to share a super quick tutorial on how to make ombre stickers. This a a great gift to include in letters or add to party favors.

Here are the supplies you'll need:

  • Xyron create-a-sticker (my Xyron is makes stickers up to 1.5 inches wide)
  • Paint chips
  • Decorative punch (I'm using a butterfly punch)

Step 1 - Punch:
  • Punch the paint chips in several colors ranging from dark to light.
Step 2- Arrange:
  • Arrange the punched butterflies in order of dark to light color.

Step 3- Make stickers:
  • Place the punched butterflies through the Xyron machine, starting with the darkest ones first.

  • Pull the tab until the first set of butterflies can no longer be seen, then add the next set of butterflies.
  • Continue until all butterflies are placed through the Xyron.
  • Then pull the stickers and cut the strip. Rub the stickers, then remove the top sheet of thin plastic.

  • Rearrange any stickers that are off center.
  • Cut excess backing.
  • Give as gifts!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.

Best wishes,

Petal Pouch Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share great tutorial on how to make this adorable petal pouch that I saw on the blog "A Spoonful of Sugar". For a link to the tutorial, please click here.

Here's a couple of pictures of some of the pouches I made using the tutorial:

This pouch is slightly smaller than the one in the tutorial. (When I cut the fabric for this pouch, I cut each of the 2 squares 8.0 by 8.0 inches, instead of 8.5 by 8.5 inches.)

The pouch on it's own is a great gift and my friends use them to hold jewerly and small trinkets.

I hope you enjoy making these pouches for your friends!

Best wishes,

Magnetic Bookmark Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Magnetic bookmarks are my favorite gift to give to my friends, so I thought I would make this my first tutorial.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Card stock
  • Decorative paper (I like to use chiyogami or washi paper)
  • Thin magnets (you can use an old refrigerator magnet or buy them at an office supply or craft store)
  • Laminating self-seal paper (optional)
  • Xyron sticker maker or glue stick
  • Ruler
  • Cutting board
  • Craft knife
  • Bone folder

Step 1- Cut:
  • Cut card stock into 1 1/8 by 3 1/4 inches
  • Cut decorative paper into 1 by 1 1/2 inches
  • Cut magnets 1/2 by 3/4 inches (you need 2 per bookmark)
  • Cut laminated self seal paper into 2 by 4 inches (optional)

(I like to cut several sets at once, as you can see in the picture!)

Step 2- Assemble:
  • Fold card stock in half (use a bone folder to get a clean crease)
  • Glue the decorative paper onto one side of the folded card stock (to add adhesive to the decorative paper use your Xyron machine or a glue stick)
  • Glue the magnets to the inside of the bookmark about 1/8 of an inch from the edge (if your magnets have an adhesive backing, peel off the backing and place the magnets; if not, run them through your Xyron machine or use a glue stick)

Step 3 (Optional)- Laminate for a professional look:

  • Peel off the backing of the laminated paper and place the front of the bookmark on the stick side of the laminated paper, leaving a little around on all sides. Then wrap the remaining portion of the laminated paper around the back of the bookmark, while the bookmark is closed.
  • Open the bookmark and trim off excess lamination.

Now your bookmarks are finished!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
